I can’t believe it is already time for Nominating Committee! Because we have had so much growth over the last two years, I am going to give a brief explanation of what Nominating Committee is and how we will be going through the process this year. First and foremost, Nominating Committee is the committee we put together as a church to select the ministry leaders of our church. This process happens every 2 years. Those who accept the call to serve as ministry leaders will hold their position until the following nominating process, and those serving can be nominated again to serve a consecutive term. After the selection of the Nominating Committee, the church will vote at our church service October 9. Those who view online will be able to see the selected committee via the newsletter for October 8 and can then email any objections they may have.

The way that we will be selecting our Nominating Committee this year is different than in the past due to the fact that we have many members watching from online. In order to give all our members an opportunity to give their voice in nominating those who will be tasked with the responsibility to select ministry leaders, we have created a Google Form. The link can be found below.

This allows us to hear from everyone who is a member and allows the entire church to select the nominating committee. You can access this form now, in this newsletter, and from the following newsletter, to be sent on October 1. The ministry leaders who will be responsible with tallying the submitted forms will be:

Pastor, Head Elder, Head Deacon, Head Deaconess, Men’s Ministry leader, and Women’s Ministry leader.

The top 6 names from the forms submitted will be selected and voted upon, as a church, October 9th. Following the vote, the committee will begin meeting to go through the selection of ministry leaders for the following term of 2 years.

As we go about this process, I ask that you will keep this as a matter of prayer, both in the names you put down and in the possibility that God might be calling you to help lead here at the Alpharetta SDA Church. In the Google Form we have also asked that you fill out areas that you would like to serve.

As we approach Sabbath and continue in our series through the amazing book of Revelation, I want to ask a simple question, and that is, in Revelation 4 where is God’s throne located? You’ll have to tune in tomorrow to find out the answer!

See you all tomorrow!

Church News and Announcements

Our vespers concert for Joshua Katreeb has been moved to October 2nd at 7pm.

God has a plan for everyone and everything. That includes you, and it includes the Alpharetta Seventh-day Adventist Church. We believe that stories are being shaped through our church. That is why we set out to raise $185,000 to build a pavilion where our friends, family, and neighbors can come to hear the Gospel and learn to embrace God’s better story for their lives. To date we have raised over $100,000!

This pavilion will serve as a critical part of our overall campus, allowing our youth to have outside summer gatherings, our vespers to be sheltered from the sun and rain, and so much more. You can see what the pavilion will look like by going to

We can’t pull this off without your support. Whether you give to our church on a regular basis, or just attend on occasion, we’re asking you to prayerfully consider contributing to this undertaking. It’s something we need our entire church community’s help with. Even if you can’t make a large gift, know that every little bit helps. It’s more about coming together as a community, united behind the common cause of sharing the story of Jesus. We hope that you’ll consider making a donation towards this great step forward in proclaiming the gospel.

You can give online at our website through AdventistGiving, or mark it on your tithe envelopes.

For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock. – Psalm 27:5
