Moment with Pastor Luke

What a trip! 4 days of driving, several thousands of miles, gas station food, and 1 very happy grandmother. My trip out to Colorado was a tremendous success, and I experienced a tremendous answer to prayer! I drove through Texas to pick up a furnace and then was on to Colorado to pick up my grandmother and lead out a ceremony in remembrance of my grandfather. I ran into a problem however, when on my way into the Rocky Mountains I began to drive through rain. Now, my truck bed is exposed and the furnace in the bed was in a cardboard box. The fear began to set in that I might have to pull over to wait out the rain so the furnace doesn’t get ruined. However, if I waited out the rain I could be waiting for a while. The other alternative was to drive through the rain and hope that the furnace doesn’t get too wet.

It was while I was contemplating what best steps to take that God impressed upon my heart to give this matter, albeit seemingly small, into His hands. So I stopped and prayed for God to take away my stress, to give me wisdom to decide, and then ultimately to take away the rain. When I said “amen” the light sprinkle stopped and as I began to drive, the storm in front of me just kept lessening and lessening and I drove through the mountains completely dry.

What a lesson God taught me. I had seen this situation as one that wasn’t very significant, but it was causing me stress and God showed me that no matter what I might think is too small to give over to Him, He still wants it. He wants to really take everything from us and His promise is to give us rest in its stead. So if there is anything that is causing you stress or worry, give it over to Jesus. His promise is a good one: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” - Matthew 11:28

See you all Sabbath!

Church News and Announcements

God has a plan for everyone and everything. That includes you, and it includes the Alpharetta Seventh-day Adventist Church. We believe that stories are being shaped through our church. That is why we set out to raise $185,000 to build a pavilion where our friends, family, and neighbors can come to hear the Gospel and learn to embrace God’s better story for their lives. To date we have raised over $100,000!

This pavilion will serve as a critical part of our overall campus, allowing our youth to have outside summer gatherings, our vespers to be sheltered from the sun and rain, and so much more. You can see what the pavilion will look like by going to

We can’t pull this off without your support. Whether you give to our church on a regular basis, or just attend on occasion, we’re asking you to prayerfully consider contributing to this undertaking. It’s something we need our entire church community’s help with. Even if you can’t make a large gift, know that every little bit helps. It’s more about coming together as a community, united behind the common cause of sharing the story of Jesus. We hope that you’ll consider making a donation towards this great step forward in proclaiming the gospel.

You can give online at our website through AdventistGiving, or mark it on your tithe envelopes.

For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock. – Psalm 27:5
