A MOMENT WITH PASTOR LUKE
Hey Church Family,
Happy Sabbath Church! I'm sure it's been a crazy week for all of us – Thanksgiving is over and now the Holidays are in full swing. I hope this Sabbath gives you and your family much needed rest, and a chance to connect with the Reason for the Season, Jesus.
This week has been super challenging for Carissa and myself. Unfortunately, this week's newsletter will have some not-so-great news, but there IS hopeful news, too. The hopeful part is our visitor from last sabbath has no symptoms on day 9! Even though we have not yet heard back on his test results, this is very encouraging. We also have no news of anyone else feeling any Covid-related symptoms! Hallelujah and praise God for His protection!
The not-so-great news is that, unfortunately, I have tested positive for Covid in a recent rapid test. I've made a habit of taking regular tests to be in good conscience meeting with people as is so important in my role as your Pastor. I have also taken a more accurate test (the PCR), but won't have the results back for 5-7 days. So, out of an abundance of caution, I am quarantining until my PCR comes back (I am praying it is negative!) I DO feel normal and am my regular energetic self!
Church and Sabbath School will continue tomorrow, as will Pathfinders and Adventurers. Praise the Lord! Our brother, Gary Gardner, will bring us the sermon in my place. The Concert Vespers for tomorrow night will be rescheduled for next week, December 12.
We will keep the Church updated on any new developments, and prayers from everyone is appreciated! Please continue to practice CDC guidelines at church as we've been doing. Everyone has done exceptional with this, and I truly believe God has protected us this year!
Through it all, we know God is firmly in control of everything in heaven and on Earth! We praise Him in the good times, and the challenging.
Blessings,
Pastor Luke
