Interfaith Movement for
Immigrant Justice

Movimento Interfe para la Justicia del Inmigrante

Dear IMIrJ friends,

We got our ballots today. Did you?

There's a lot at stake this election season ... including Oregon's 30-year-old sanctuary law.

Our immigrant kin, friends and partners in Oregon say this: if there's one thing you can do to have our backs right now, it is to make sure that Measure 105 doesn't pass.

And yes - that means voting No on Measure 105. But your vote and ours aren't enough. It looks like this is going to be a very tight race - the kind where every vote counts. We want to wake up on November 7th knowing we did all we could to show up for our immigrant friends, coworkers, and neighbors.

So ... here's what we can do (and yes, let's do it together!):

1. Sign up to canvass or phonebank with IMIrJ!  Our goal is to have at least a dozen IMIrJ supporters at each event. Scroll down to see event dates and RSVP.

2. Encourage friends to come with you! Bring this sign-up sheet to services in your faith community this weekend and invite others to sign up to canvass as well. Share the info back with sarah@imirj.org so we can make sure to send reminders and thank people!

Best,
Your IMIrJ staff team
Sarah, Ron, Jimmy & Alyssa

PS. Ready for more?  You can also:

Get a yard sign for your congregation or home and make visible your opposition to hate, fear, and Measure 105.

Host a No on 105 house meeting: Reach beyond the pews. Help educate your coworkers, neighbors, and friends about 105 - and build relationships for the long haul. Check out the IMIrJ toolkit at: www.imirj.org/no-on-105

Organize a canvass day for your community: If you have at least 12 people in your faith community who can commit to attend, No on 105 field staff will help you set up a neighborhood canvass starting from your congregation! All you need to do is provide date/time, place & people! Contact Joel (541) 357-7664 (joel@causaoregon.org) to arrange & let sarah@imirj.org know so we can support and help you publicize!

Let's do this together!
