Dear friends,

Thank you for those of you who joined our first House Huddle last week! If you couldn't make it, don't worry. We can see each other at our quarterly gatherings in March. We'll send a reminder email as we get closer to the date.

We wanted to make sure you saw a few other events that are happening in the next few weeks
PDX Caravan to Day of Remembrance at NW Detention Center

IMIrJ is joining together with friends at Oregon PSR (Physicians for Social Responsibility), Oregon Doctors 4 Camp Closure and others to organize a joint caravan up to Tacoma for the Day of Remembrance, Day of Action being planned by colleagues and friends in Washington. The Day of Remembrance, Day of Action at NWDC commemorates the 78th anniversary of the Executive Order that incarcerated 126,000 citizens and immigrants of Japanese descent during WWII. It shines a light to the thousands of immigrants and refugees that are confined in similar concentration camps.

Our Caravan will leave from the parking lot of Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School at 4906 NE 6th Ave, Portland, OR 97211. If you have a car and are able to drive, please show up at the parking lot with your vehicle and a full tank of gas/fully charged battery. Once folks are assembled, we will match riders with drivers, aiming to take as few cars as necessary. Additionally, We recommend you bring along a sack lunch and perhaps a snack to share.
