Thank you for sustaining our work!

Dear friend,

I wanted to send you a personal note to thank you for your recurring donation to IMIrJ. I know there are many other worthy ways that you could use those funds and your choosing to use them to steward our work is not lost on any of us working at IMIrJ.

Thank you!

Your recurring donation allows us to better plan our budget for the year, which gives us the flexibility we need to respond to important moments in immigrant justice. This year, your donation helped us host IMIrJ’s first-ever advocacy day in Salem. 300 of faithful people showed up to advocate for legal representation for immigrants, case management for refugees, access to driver licenses for all, and an expansion of the hate crimes law. All of the bills we supported passed. Our presence in the Capitol rotunda and in the offices of legislators show how people of faith stand in public for our values.

Together, we also helped the Supreme Court Chief Justice of Oregon join our circle of protection. This fall, she issued a ruling that prevents ICE from arresting people in and around courthouses without a warrant. The ruling is only the third in the nation. Our IMIrJ community participated in actions, sent comments, and kept in touch about this courthouse ruling to make it happen. Your recurring donation gave us the flexibility to use our resources for this campaign at a critical moment.

As we look at the landscape of immigrant justice in 2020, we know that we could not do this work without your leadership and support. Thank you again for your trust.

Wish you all the best in the year to come,

Alaide Vilchis Ibarra
Executive Director
