I am writing both to advise you of the fact that two of our senior team members have submitted notice of their intended resignations from Office by no later than the end of June 2022.
As President, I am writing to you to ask for your support in providing nominations from any current or prospective RUSI NSW Members to fill these two essential positions.
I welcome any dialogue from potential volunteers to explore the practical realities of being a volunteer in either position, and I now request your active support in filling these two key positions please.

Here are the main details of the two positions:
HONORARY TREASURER AND BOARD MEMBER
We seek expressions of interest for the role of Treasurer & Board Member. This hands-on role is responsible for the Institute’s financial and investment management and maintaining the data base of its approx. 500 members, in conjunction with the Office Manager. A comprehensive handover will be provided by the incumbent who is retiring after seven years in the role. Experience in preparing financial statements and competency in Microsoft Excel are requirements. A knowledge of investment management and of modern accounting software and data base management systems would be an advantage.
In addition to attending monthly Board meetings- (which are held by Zoom meetings once per month commencing at 1700hrs on a Tuesday evening), the time commitment is to the order of two hours per week plus one day following each month’s end, and one week following financial year end. Duties may be performed remotely and/or at the Institute’s office.
OFFICE MANAGER
This is a non-Board role, but the position holder will be invited to attend Board meetings which are currently held by Zoom meetings once per month commencing at 1700hrs on a Tuesday evening. The Office Manager is expected to be in physical attendance at the RUSI NSW office and Library in the Anzac memorial Hyde Park Sydney for 1 day per week minimum, and to assist the Librarian in coordinating the volunteers who staff the RUSI NSW office across Monday to Friday each week.
Duties include but are not limited to:- establishing and running an efficient administration system- which will be increasingly web based and electronic/ answering all routine correspondence and enquiries directed to the RUSI NSW office/ receipt and accounting for routine financial transactions (working with and to the Treasurer )/ supporting the RUSI NSW library functions and providing administrative support to the RUSI NSW monthly lectures and visit program.
The position reports to the Current Librarian and is responsible to the Board for the effective running of the office administration of the RUSI NSW office and its associated systems.
