DECEMBER NEWSLETTER OF THE W2O

WORLD OCEAN JOURNAL VOLUME 7

The focus of this volume of World Ocean Journal is solutions: real ideas and inventions that are being developed and applied around the world by entrepreneurs and innovators, to direct action through enterprise and commitment to transformational change now—in spite of the awkward and unresolved delays by theorists and bureaucrats. We are excited to compile individual projects and groups working on practical solutions into one innovative and surprising collection. We've enlisted the help of the Biomimicry Institute, the Hacking 4 Oceans Initiative, and innovative and fascinating visualizations tools that look help us to interpret ocean and climate events and can transform the way we learn about scientific facts related to the ocean.

What is happening here is the work of change, the project-by-project application of data, imagination, energy, and action directly in, on, and by the ocean as an expression of new values and determined commitment to a future that works. World Ocean Journal is a digital magazine on ocean culture and solutions to today’s ocean issues. Each volume includes essays, interviews, art, exhibits, and more, profiling the vital impacts of the ocean on our lives.
