Free Flu Shot

This week, we started the fall season and with it comes the challenges of the upcoming flu season. Every year, LA hospitals receive an influx of patients needing treatment for the flu, but this year will be especially challenging given that we are still in a COVID-19 pandemic. Medical experts are advising all Angelenos to get a flu shot as soon as possible to avoid a possible “twindemic” from overtaking our hospital resources.

In order to save lives, we must do all that we can. Please start with the simple step of getting a flu shot. Everyone should call their doctor, visit a pharmacy, or use VaccineFinder.org to schedule a flu shot appointment.

If you don’t have insurance, you can still get a flu shot.

Anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should wait to get a flu shot, stay in isolation, and consult their doctor before getting a flu shot.

Parking Enforcement Recommences

October 1

On October 1, 2020, parking enforcement will resume. The Los Angeles Department of Transportation recently shared their plans to resume parking enforcement for previously suspended parking infractions, and proposed economic relief measures for parking fines.

Below, please find key dates for when each type of parking enforcement will restart:

Beginning October 1, 2020, LADOT will resume parking enforcement and impounds, when applicable, for street cleaning, abandoned vehicles, oversize and overnight restrictions, peak hour and anti-gridlock zones, and expired registration.

Beginning October 15, 2020, LADOT will resume enforcement of expired preferential parking district permits.

LADOT will suspend imposing new citation late penalties until October 22, 2020.

Beginning January 1, 2021, LADOT will resume scofflaw enforcement and impounds.

Learn more about changes to parking enforcement at ladot.lacity.org/coronavirus.
