Celebrating the Nature Parkway

There was recently a Celebration Ceremony of the East San Fernando Valley Nature Parkway. The event marked the culmination of WeRise2021 with a California Native Plant give-away.

The event was blessed by Rudy Ortega Jr., Tribal President of the Fernandeno Tataviam Band of Mission Indians who was introduced by Rogelio Tabarez, the El Nido Family Centers Best Start Coordinator of Learning and Development. Yolie Anguiano of Valle Vida and VitalizeSFV spoke about safe spaces for the community then presented Rudy Ortega Jr. with a plant. After she met with and gave plants to the attendees.

Protect Yourself from the West NileVirus

The world’s deadliest animal is only a half inch in size. An infected mosquito can transmit West Nile Virus and other vector-borne diseases through a single bite.

Protect yourself by removing standing water on your property to prevent mosquitoes from finding their new home near you.

No Standing Water = No Mosquitoes.
