The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust - Autumn 2016

A warm welcome to the latest edition of our newsletter

It is always incredibly moving and humbling to receive messages from our supporters. Many have had personal experiences of ectopic pregnancy and used our services and are now passionate about championing the charity as part of their journey and healing process.

Do you want to get involved? You can join us to increase awareness of ectopic pregnancy and help raise the profile of the EPT and the work that we do. In this issue, we share some of the ways you can help out - every action, small or large, counts.

The EPT welcomes Charlotte Crosby as new patron

Popular television personality Charlotte Crosby has agreed to become a patron of The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust

The former Geordie Shore star and Celebrity Big Brother winner currently starring on E4’s Celebs Go Dating, suffered an ectopic pregnancy this year and is incredibly keen to raise awareness of the condition and its symptoms. Thanks to Charlotte speaking openly about her devastating experience, our website experienced a 600% increase in traffic daily for three days and social media engagement increased by 460%. She has shared the symptoms of ectopic pregnancy with her millions of followers and got magazines like Heat, the daily newspapers and national radio discussing and sharing the symptoms and risks of ectopic pregnancy – a topic they wouldn’t usually talk about. Millions more people across the UK now know what an ectopic pregnancy is and it may save lives!

Join the EPT in marking Baby Loss Awareness Week

Baby Loss Awareness Week will be held from 9th - 15th October 2016. It's an opportunity to support bereaved families, as well as a chance for parents, family and friends to remember their loss. The week culminates on 15th October with the global Wave of Light which begins at 7pm. During this time, candles are lit and left to burn for at least an hour to honour and acknowledge the babies that have died during pregnancy or at, during or after birth. Join us in lighting a candle and share your pictures on our Facebook page. Show your support by wearing a special Baby Loss Awareness pin badge

Each pack contains 10 cards of your chosen design plus white envelopes.

Fundraiser focus: Sky-diving

Among some of our more daring fundraisers are Ashleigh, Danny, and Danielle and Vicky who recently took to the skies in an adrenaline-rush sky-dive. Ashleigh told us that from the moment she, Danny and Danielle arrived, they were full of nerves. Ashleigh took the first leap and said that the thrill of the parachute opening and descending to a magnificent landing was breath-taking. We are humbled by their generosity and appreciate their feeling that they “have done it for an amazing charity and raised so much money!” which will go to providing front-line support to women and their families experiencing ectopic pregnancy. A huge thank you to Ashleigh, Danny, Danielle and Vicky and all of our phenomenal fundraisers for their commitment.
