Driving the EPT vision

Autumn is a busy period for the charity especially as we hold our Strategy Day during this time. At our recent meeting, we held a workshop focusing on how best to ensure that all families experiencing ectopic pregnancy know about the condition and the EPT.

The EPT believes that every family should have access to vital information they need at diagnosis and treatment and are aware of options for support on discharge from hospital. This formed the core of the day and themes included enhancing our social media presence and website content.

In the coming weeks and months, we will be putting these plans into action and, if you have any feedback, we would love to hear from you.

9-15 October is Baby Loss Awareness Week

The week unites the world in commemorating the lives of babies that have died. This year, we will be presenting powerful messages on social media highlighting bereavement through ectopic pregnancy. We recognise that, in among the whirlwind of treatment, the loss of the baby that we had hoped for is sadly sometimes overlooked by those around us. During Baby Loss Awareness Week, please help us spread the awareness that bereavement and grief are often part of the ordeal. You can show support by wearing Baby Loss Awareness Week and EPT pin badges.

Take part with us in the global Wave of Light on 15 October by lighting a candle. Then share your candle photos on our Facebook and tag us on Instagram

Let's remember together

For the very first time, we are holding our Skype support groups in time for Baby Loss Awareness Week. Open to to anyone who has been affected by ectopic pregnancy, you are welcome to join us to reflect, whether your loss was some time ago or recent.

Redesigned patient information leaflets

We recently reviewed and redesigned our free leaflets on ectopic pregnancy treatments and are busy distributing these to hospitals nationwide. Your support and donations make this happen. The leaflets provide details on what to expect during and after treatment and the emotional toll patients experience. They signpost to our services so that families have somewhere to go after leaving hospital and are not alone. The majority of hospitals distribute these to patients and, if you would like us to get in touch with your hospital, please let us know.
