The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust - Spring 2016

A warm welcome to the latest edition of our newsletter.

The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust is a small UK-based charity with an extensive reach. We are driven to help others through our own experiences since many of us have suffered an ectopic pregnancy and difficulties of our own.

We operate with the assistance of our committed volunteers and fundraisers (many of whom have suffered an ectopic pregnancy and used our services historically) and are grateful for all their support. Thank you to each and every one.

New leaflet on Pregnancy of Unknown Location

Thanks to the amazing help of our supporters, we aim to increase the help that we give to women undergoing diagnosis for ectopic pregnancy. We are in the process of producing a leaflet on Pregnancy of Unknown Location. This is where a pregnancy cannot yet be located whether in the uterus or elsewhere. We understand that this uncertainty can be a scary time and hope that by providing women and their families with information and support, some of the emotional distress can be reduced.

The EPT's response to the National Maternity Review

In February the NHS England commissioned review on maternity care was published. It sets out proposals to make care safer and give women greater control and more choices. Regretfully, it does not expressly tackle early pregnancy complications or loss. However, there are aspects of the review which we hope can support women during challenging times at any stage in their pregnancy including patient-centred care, improved mental health provision and sensitive bereavement care.

Raise awareness with our new design t-shirts

Our new t-shirts have just arrived! These will make their way to our fabulous fundraisers free of charge and are EPT-branded to raise awareness of the Trust and the important work we do. They are engineered with "dry fit" technology and have styles for men and women. We love the new design, visit our shop to order yours!

The Great North Run is considered by many as the greatest half marathon in the world! This year, we have secured five spaces for the event which takes place on Sunday 11 September, starting in Newcastle upon Tyne. If you'd like to take the 13.1 mile challenge while raising awareness and much valued funds for The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust, we would love to hear from you

We have more information about ectopic pregnancy on the EPT website, and our discussion forums provide a safe, supportive environment in which to ask questions and share your experiences
