Compounding Corner:

We offer customized medications in unique dosage forms, meeting unique practitioner and patient needs.

Have you or a loved one ever had difficulty taking medication? You’re not alone. Many people experience issues such as these:

  • Stomach upset when taking oral medication
  • Reluctance to take the medication due to its taste
  • Difficulty swallowing pills
  • Requiring a different dose of medication than that which is available from a manufacturer
  • Patients who don’t want to take medication at all, especially children or pets

A compounding pharmacist may be able to provide solutions for challenges such as these. Working closely with the patient and the prescriber, compounding gives the pharmacist the means to customize medication to meet the individual needs of each patient.

Immunization Awareness

Vaccines (shots) help prevent dangerous and sometimes deadly diseases. National Immunization Awareness Month is the perfect time to promote vaccines and remind family, friends, and co-workers to get caught up on their shots.

Shots can prevent serious diseases like measles, diphtheria, and rubella. It’s important to know which shots you need and when to get them. Everyone age 6 months and older needs a seasonal flu shot every year. Other shots work best when they are given at certain ages.

• If you have a child age 6 or younger, find out which shots your child needs.
Find out which shots you or your teenager needs.
• Talk to your doctor or one of our pharmacists to make sure that everyone in the family gets the shots they need.

Employee Spotlight:

Zach Wilson, Pharmacy Intern

"This is my second year working for the Peninsula Pharmacies. I worked last summer, winter break, and this summer. My title is “Pharmacist Assistant,” but I am also the driver that delivers for our stores and facilities in the community.
I enjoy working with the variety of people that come into the store along with all of the staff. They are always there if you need a good laugh. Making a customer happy is also a good feeling.
I enjoy camping with my family, hiking, and kayaking.  I am also an Eagle Scout. I'm about to start my third year at Saint Martins University in Lacey, Washington. I am pursuing a degree in Biology, and once my four years are completed there I plan on transferring to a pharmacy school. Becoming a Pharmacist is my career aspiration."
