GPCC President Matt Smith Testifies on Clean Slate

Chamber President Matt Smith recently testified before the House Democratic Policy Committee in a joint public hearing with the Pennsylvania Legislative Black Caucus on Clean Slate. “On behalf of the business community, I applaud the bipartisan efforts of all our elected officials who worked so hard to draft and pass the clean slate legislation that Governor Wolf signed into law last June 28 as the Clean Slate Act of 2018 (also known as Act 56), as well as Act 95 of 2018, criminal justice reform related to driver’s licenses that went into effect last week …The Clean Slate legislation opened doors to many hardworking women and men who want an opportunity to move beyond their past and create better lives for themselves and their families.

PHOTOS: 2019 PA Legislative Reception

Members of the Allegheny Conference and it's affiliate the Greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce were on the ground in Harrisburg last month for the annual Pennsylvania Legislative Reception hosted in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia.

One of the three signature receptions that we host each year, the reception recognizes the work of our many committed public and private sector partners in southwestern Pennsylvania who work to improve the Pittsburgh region's competitiveness, economic climate and quality of life. We thank Governor Tom Wolf for delivering the keynote address.

As always, we thank our event co-sponsors and corporate partners. Without their support these events would not be possible.
