Ecritel becomes the 1st user of the marketplace

trait

The France-IX marketplace has its first user, the member Ecritel.

Sébastien David, NOC Manager at Ecritel explains the reasons for using marketplace : "As part of our need for redundancy with Opentransit / Orange, we have set up an interconnection via the site Equinix PA7 (formerly Telecity Condorcet) where the operator does not offer this service. The use of our connection port and marketplace enabled us to get the required service in record time and at a reasonable cost."

The France-IX marketplace is an ideal place for service providers wishing to offer their solutions to a community with 300 networks in 9 Parisian points of presence.

By subscribing to additional IP services, members can optimize their connection port, manage effectively the provisioning of such services and enhance the global quality of their network.

Access to K-Root server by French networks gets more efficient

trait

The K-Root DNS server managed by the RIPE NCC is now reachable via our exchange point in Paris.

Sponsored by Dalenys (formerly Rentabiliweb), who donated a Dell PowerEdge R430, this installation reduces the latency to the server by networks in France up to 10 times.

The community builder of Ripe Labs, Mirjam Kuehne, shares her enthusiasm: "Our mission is to optimise stability and global reachability of the Internet, and we are undergoing an expansion of the K-root anycast network to improve the quality of service for all users on the Internet."

K-Root is the second root DNS server connected to France-IX, following M-Root.
