The Inner Landscape of Beauty
I was listening to a favourite interview this morning while skiing in Gatineau Park. A conversation between Krista Tippett and the beloved Irish poet and philosopher John O’Donohue.
I have listened to this interview many times over the years since O’Donohue's death in 2008. This morning, the message on beauty and the power of landscape struck me.
"What amazes me about landscape, landscape recalls you into a mindful mode of stillness, solitude, and silence, where you can truly receive time" expressed O'Donohue. He went on to say that we can connect to the landscape of our surroundings regardless of the quality of the place...and that through this connection we come back into rhythm with the universe.
