*Please note time change to accomodate both services!

Sunday, May 12th is Mother’s Day, St. John’s will host its annual Mother’s Day Breakfast between the services, from 8:45 - 9:20 am.   The Men’s Group traditionally hosts — relatively easy, as we just provide pre-made quiche, mixed fruit, muffins, juice, & coffee. Therefore, I only need to identify 4 early service volunteers + 4 late service volunteers to help with setup, serving, & cleanup.  Early service volunteers would be needed from 9:05—9:50 to help serve and to clean up. Late service volunteers would be needed from 8:15-9:05 to set up and to help serve.

If you can commit to helping, please let Jon Still know ASAP, along with which service you plan to attend... thanks!
"All are welcome to participate."

The Meeting of the Formation Commission this Sunday, May 12 after the 9:30 AM Holy Eucharist in the Library.
Would You Be Interested in Volunteering in the Office?

On Sunday, May 5, five youth and 3 adults traveled to The Ronald McDonald House in Hershey, Pennsylvania, to participate in the guest chef program for the 70 people who are staying there as their family members receive medical treatment at Hershey Hospital. The Ronald McDonald House® is built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest. We were able to help with this! Since it was Cinco de Mayo, we made tacos, refried beans, and a mexican rice casserole.  It was a wonderful experience for all of us!  The youth worked so hard to create a delicious meal for all the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House.

Raise the Roof Campaign

Due to the number of leaks and after a professional evaluation, we have determined that we need to replace all of our roofing in the near future to avoid continued maintenance and damage to the structure. On Sunday, May 19th, Mike Gwozdecki, who is chairing our Raise the Roof campaign, will be explaining why, when, and how we plan to replace our roof.  We hope many of you will be able to come to the presentation at 9 am in the Parish Hall between the early and late services. This is a wonderful opportunity to give to our historic building and preserve it in faith for generations to come.

Anglican Prayer Group

St. John’s Anglican Prayer Group meets each Tuesday in the Chapel, between 10 and 11:30am, all year long.  Please come and join as we intercede for both members of St. John’s and anyone in need of our prayers.  Contact Deacon Ann Whitesel if you would like to learn more about this ministry.

Youth Investment Club Donations

The Youth Investment Club recently handed out $5400 in grants to Habitat for Humanity, Community CARES, and the Employment Skills Center. Habitat needed some safety equipment for roof work; ESC will hold a class on forklift driving; CARES will use their grant as down payment on a van to transport clients to and from the various churches. The Investment Club will take a break over the summer and resume in September. Any high school youth with an interest in learning how the stock market works and who wants to give back to the community is welcome to join. Just see Alvin Blitz, Jon Still or Mike Cross.
