I recently saw a pastoral letter from our Bishop in which she acknowledged, "In this election season, we have been tested to keep focused on a godly path that is righteous and honorable. The debasement that our contentious national election has wrought is discouraging at its best, and dangerous at its worst. The power of evil has been palpable in our country in these days; racist assaults, violent rhetoric, and systemic oppression have proliferated as the election draws closer, and as the grip of a deadly pandemic has squeezed us even tighter."
I thank her for this message. In recognition that many people are physically isolated right now, but might still want the opportunity to have some company post election, I am hosting a Zoom meeting from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday November 4. If you wish to receive the link to this Zoom, please e-mail me (firstname.lastname@example.org) and I will send it to you.
