Advent IV
I

It's not too late to make a pledge to St. John's. So far, we have 157 households who have committed to supporting our ministries.  We are hopeful that the remaining 30 households will join us in this important spiritual discipline.  Stewardship chair, Becky Hammell, will share an update on our current stewardship status. With full participation, we can close a $30,000 funding gap. You can pledge by going to www.stjohnscarlisle.org
There will be no Parish Forum this week.

Recorded Parish Forums will return on
January 3 with David Smith sharing our 12th Night Traditions
and January 10 with Father Adam presenting on Epiphany!
Many thanks to Deeg Shank who made a COVID Cookie Sale possible. Big thanks goes to our bakers who made 150 boxes of cookies. We are thankful to all who enabled this cherished ministry to continue--and those that purchased were so grateful to taste their favorite cookies.

A message from Deeg:

32 Total Bakers...Thank You All!!!
Approximately 135 boxes of cookies and 10 bags of Doggie Treats sold plus donations.
Total Income:$2984

Thank you to all who donated time and energy packing and selling boxes this year and providing help in other ways:
Lauren Till, Barb Forney, Becky Hammell, John Murray, John Newbold, Luca Trazzi, Craig Jurgensen, Carla Fisher, Aurora Lehman, Aimee Confer, Mother Melissa, Father Adam, Susan Murray, Larry Alexander and Josh Edginton.
Thank you to the Cumberland County Historical Society for the use of their facility to receive and pack the cookies.
May you all have a Blessed Christmas!!!
The end of the year is a very important time for churches financially. Please be sure to pay your pledge so that we can fund all of our ministries. If you need any special guidance for end-of-the-year giving, please contact Alvin Blitz, our parish treasurer.

For the past few weeks many of the St. John's kids have been meeting online and preparing a virtual Christmas pageant for all of us. We can't have all the things we normally have but we can have something new and fun and funny! It has been a blast preparing this pageant for you and we hope you enjoy watching it as much as we have enjoyed making it!

The Longest Day Liturgy, Monday, December 21st, 7pm

Are you feeling blue this Christmas? If so, join Mother Melissa for an evening of prayer on the shortest day of the year. We will gather and pray intentionally for all who have died this year--and all who mourn. We will remember other grief and loss as well as we seek healing for ourselves, our nation, and our world.
Email Mother Melissa for the Zoom link.

The namesake of this publication is taking final shape.

The new eyebrow moldings are going up!  The replacement louvers are up and painted.  Then end of the project is in sight.  One side is well on the way and can be compared with the one next to it.
