A few instructions to make the transition to in-person worship easier:
  • You must enter the church only through the red front doors and check in with the usher.  You may not enter the church buildings through Irvine Row or the Courtyard door (both of these doors are locked).
  • Masks must be worn throughout the service.
  • Exit the church the church once the service ends because the sextons must sanitize.  You are welcome to talk in courtyard following social distancing protocols.
Fellowship invites you to come to the courtyard for Lemonade on the Lawn following the 9:30 liturgy. This is a wonderful way to safely reconnect with others outdoors. In the future, we will be asking for people to sign up to host Lemonade on the Lawn. Details will be forthcoming.
St. Barnabas Gathering will be this Sunday at 4pm in the Parish Hall.

The Pastoral Care Team is interested in exploring some small group development after the traumatic year many of us have experienced.  If you feel alone and would like to find a way to connect with other folks from St. John's in a meaningful way, please contact Mother Melissa at will gather in a safe way to discuss the possibilities of creating one or more groups based on our needs and interests. As you may recall, we created a group on Zoom that met during the quarantine to support one another.
We still have 20 spots available at the 8:00 a.m. service and 22 at the 9:30 a.m. service. You can sign up here:
In June, pastoral care will be resuming our letter-writing ministry to the homebound. If you would like to be a part of this important endeavor, please contact Mother Melissa at
Did you know that in the past three years St. John's has improved our pledging by over 20%? We used to pledge $350,000 and now we are pledging $400,000 towards a $600,000 annual budget. However, our costs increased this year and are facing a funding gap.

How can you help?

Please consider buying Giant gift cards in the courtyard after the 9:30 liturgy. If you shop at Giant, we get income from your expenditures. Please also consider joining the fundraising brainstorming group, which will meet in June. If you know of a great fundraiser idea to support St. John's, please contact Debbie Kendrick or Becky Hammell.
Last Sunday we bid farewell to Charles and Jane Seller as they moved to State College to be closer to their family.  Below is their new mailing address:

We are looking for people to help answer phones, return calls, handle small projects, file paperwork, proofread communications, provide lunch coverage, and gather information from the congregation.

Please contact Larry Alexander in the office if you would like to return to this volunteer ministry or inquire about volunteering for the first time.
