Dear <<First Name>>,
Finches twittering, flies and bees buzzing, kids jumping in puddles...it sure looks like Spring had indeed arrived!
Check out some musings on healthy food, and a list of spring events coming up.

Seedy Events
Seedy Sunday in Edmonton was very well attended, and I'm excited about the new seeds (see photo above) from Wildrose Heritage Seed, a new vendor at the event.
If you missed it, here is info for Seedy Saturday in Stony Plain on March 30, 10-3 pm, at the Multicultural Heritage Center, Facebook. I have been invited to give a talk on "Vegetable Growing" at 1:30 pm.

The Trouble with Books...
For more variety, life lessons and to get out of the house in winter, I took on part-time work at the library. I love books and kept noticing what other people borrow. I certainly noticed how many cookbooks and diet related resources circulate all the time! Pretty soon, I felt compelled to borrow some of them myself, and that opened the door to reflections about what we eat on a daily basis. You can find a longer blog post entitled "Making Sense of Food Trends", followed by some of my plans for the 2019 garden, "Favourite Fruit, Veggies and Herbs to Grow".

If you're interested in chatting about your food journey with others, why not join us at the "Healthy Nutrition - Ideas Exchange" (see below). The idea is caring and sharing, rather than convincing.

Healthy Nutrition - Ideas Exchange
Dates: Tuesday, April 2, at 7 pm and Thursday, April 11, at 7pm
Location: Paramo Café, 9940 137 Ave (in Griesbach), Map
Join us for a free, informal exchange of ideas and questions related to food trends and diets. Share your challenges and what you have tried on your path to better health and nutrition. The evening will include a short discussion about growing some of your own vegetables, herbs and fruits that provide the majority of nutrients in a healthy diet. Connect with others on their nutrition journey, glean ideas and feel inspired to try something new! Register with Eventbrite if you would like an email reminder. Feel free to share the Facebook event.
