Self-Care Fall Fair
Wednesday November 7, 2018. Come join us at our Self-Care Fair from We will have some wonderful self-care activites, munchies and we have a SUPER DUPER raffle prize.

EODAF Conference
Caregivers Alberta will be presenting at the Early Onset Dementia Alberta Foundation Conference October 5 & 6, 2018.  Email: eodarep@gmail.com for information about the conference and registration.

In collaboration with the Edmonton PEGASIS project and the Southside PCN Senior Centre Without Walls, we are continuing our pilot program -  monthly Information and Support Phone Chat on the third Monday of each month from  7-8pm.  Topics will include: 
Transitions (Oct 15), Conflict (Nov 19)  and Merry Holidays? (Dec 17)

Oct 24 - Paper Dragon:  paperwork caregivers need to know, like Power of Attorney and Personal Directive
Nov 21 - Boundaries: strategies on setting healthy limits and when to say "no"
Dec 5 -  The Gift of Self Care (afternoon only): learn how to take care of yourself during the busy holiday season

Influenza immunization is recommended for all Albertans aged 6 months and older as the best defence against infection and illness.  The AHS Influenza season campaign will be starting late        Oct 2018.

General Social Survey - Caregiving and Care Receiving
This survey concerns Canadians who provide care to family/friends with long term health conditions. Questions about challenges that caregivers and care receivers encounter. Findings will be used to allow policy makers to design support programs and services. Survey is available from              April 3 - Dec 28, 2018.

SPOR - Strategies for Patient Oriented Research
SPOR's defintion of "patient" includes caregivers, family and friends and encourages their involvement in the research process and the integration of research into care.

Age Friendly Edmonton - Edmonton Social Planning Council (ESPC)
Are recruiting caregivers of Indigenous seniors to determine their challenges, barriers, and opportunities in our city. Any caretakers of Indigenous seniors who may be interested in participating in this study, and potentially contributing to policy change in Edmonton please contact: Alexa Byrd at 780-423-2031, ext. 356 or research@edmontonsocialplanning.ca.
