What's next with the SDGs & Access to Information

in New York, world leaders will adopt the Sustainable Development Goals, or SDGs.The next challenge is to ensure that the indicators chosen by the UN to monitor SDG16.10 will actually ensure public access to information.

The Rory Peck Trust and our member SKeyes launched the Syria Media Safety Resource

The aim of the Syria Media Safety Resource is to provide Syrian journalists with the information and tools they need to help them work more safely, and to streamline their access to emergency assistance. #syriamediasafety 

Instituto Prensa y Sociedad (IPYS) launched the Bank of Journalistic Investigations in Latin America (Spanish)

IPYS has made available to the entire community of Latin American journalists the Bank of Journalistic Investigations (BIPYS), the most complete work of compilation and systematization of journalistic content of excellence, now available thanks to a new digital platform.

International Journalists’ Network (IJNet) introduces new journalism safety toolkit

Throughout the toolkit, you’ll find IJNet's resource articles and tips sheets on how to protect yourself in tough environments — be it physical safety or digital security. Many of the articles are translated into Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Russian and Chinese, so you can share them with a broader community. IJNet has also compiled a list of helpful handbooks and guides from other organizations whose missions revolve around keeping journalists out of harm’s way.
