GFMD Elects New Steering Committee


At the GFMD’s third World Conference in Grahamstown, South Africa, September 9-11, GFMD members from some 60 countries met to discuss and agree strategies to best address the challenges a changing media environment is posing to the media development field. They agreed a set of recommendations and elected a new Steering Committee that will steer the GFMD for the next three years. The new chair of the GFMD is Leon Willems of Freepressunlimited based in the Netherlands. The new vice-chair is A.S. Panneerselvan of Panos South Asia in India.  Amie Joof of FAMEDEV in Senegal is the new treasurer. They form the Executive Committee of GFMD in charge of day-to-day work of the organisation.
