"We have to go beyond digital audience research”. A conversation with Susan Abbott:

Susan Abbott is an independent consultant, providing services in the areas of program monitoring and evaluation, research, project management, and capacity building in support of independent media, digital rights, and access to information. Playing the Access to Information Game:  GFMD debuts SDG16-10 simulation exercise at Bonn media conference

This past Tuesday, at the 2016 Deutsche Global Media Forum in Bonn, GFMD hosted its first live simulation game, giving conference participants a break from panel discussions and the chance to play-act at being good guys or bad guys or something in between.
The game was designed as “serious fun”: to show how the access-to-information commitment in the UN’s new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) could actually affect local media, national development, and the public’s right to know. The game is timely: In three months the UN General Assembly will adopt official measurements to monitor countries’ progress on the SDGs, one of which is expected to be the “adoption and implementation” of a national access to information law.
