Art + Authors at the DIA
We invite you to combine a good read with great art through a partnership with the Detroit Institute of Arts. The Art + Authors book discussion selections are Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coats and The Fire Next Time by James Baldwin and will be November 6 or 7, 10:30 AM-noon in the Founder's Junior Council Dining Rooms at the DIA. Discussion will be led by a CPL librarian and followed with an art tour. Register online or call 313-833-4005
MeL Interloan
Requests for materials through MelCat interlibrary loan will be temporarily suspended beginning November 18. It is anticipated that MelCat will be restored December 11. For more information, read our blog, or this list of FAQs from MeL.

NHS Tutoring
Tutoring by National Honor Society students will again be available for grades 3-12, beginning November 2.

Storytime Sessions
Storytimes and ABC Activity Time sessions begin November 9. Registration is required with your child's library card for Baby and Preschool storytimes. Drop in for Family storytime and ABC Activity Time. We also offer Count Me In, a storytime specifically designed for developmentally delayed and disabled patrons.
Celebrate Diwali Traditions
CPL celebrates Diwali, the festival of lights, with two special programs. See classical dance troupe Nadanta on November 3 at 7:00 PM. Then explore the beautiful patterns of rangoli with an adult coloring program on November 12 at 7:00 PM.
Learn Online with Gale Courses
With your CPL card, you can access a wide variety of 6-week courses to help you learn something new, from coding and accounting to cooking and interior design.These classes are at no charge and the next session starts November 11.
