Liberty Festival Closure

Liberty Fest, Canton's largest community celebration, takes place in Heritage Park on June 14-16. The library will close June 14 at 6:00 PM, and remain closed all day June 15 and 16. Park for free in our lot and enjoy the fireworks, carnival rides, games and live music.

Get Ready for the Best 62 Days of your Year

62 Days of SummerMake the days between June 18 and August 18 the best days of your year, with help from your library. Our 62 Days of Summer program is filled with fun activities, programs, and yes, of course, reading, for all ages. Stop in and enjoy our Kick Off Party on June 18, 10:00 AM-7:00 PM, pick up your starter package and enjoy treats, a photo station, a craft and more. Check our website and keep an eye out for our summer e-newsletter to see the details of all the things we've got planned this summer.

Pride Month Programs at CPL

To foster diversity, inclusion and understanding in our community, we are offering two Pride Month events at the library in June.

Peter Tchoryk, from Dexter, is CEO of Michigan Aerospace Corporation and Springmatter, and the father of a transgendered child. He has decided to share his family's story in an effort to increase understanding. Peter will be joined by Brianna Dee Kingsley, Chief Operations Officer at Equality Michigan on June 5.

We will also be presenting a storytime on June 7, drawing from the following children's titles:
