talkDESIGN: April 2013

Spring market is a wrap + new updates are here! Let's talkDESIGN...

Highlights from High Point

I always love going to High Point Market.  Not only do you get to visit vendors and manufacturers that you love and have accounts with, but you also get to see new things and fall in love with different lines, gain inspiration, and come up with new ideas!
As you may already know, principal designer Michelle Jennings Wiebe, was selected as 1 of 9 designers nationwide as a Style Spotter for High Point Market to forecast upcoming trends from within the design community. With over 70,000 in attendance, this was a huge opportunity to get our firm in front of a national audience of our peers and interior design aficionados alike.

While we could only choose 20 of our favorite products, there were SO many amazing furniture pieces, fabrics, and patterns that we absolutely loved!  The Spotter with the most repins + likes on Pinterest gets the prestige of being the official winner of the Style Spotter contest, as well as recognition at October's Hight Point Market. Our team had a blast in North Carolina and we can't wait to go back again in the Fall!
A special thanks goes out to all of our supporters who have repinned + "liked" on Pinterest. Remember: It's not too late to support Studio M! You can do so by visiting our official "Style Spotter" board on High Point Market's official Pinterest page here.

Thank you again, your support is VERY much appreciated!

Vendor Spotlight: "CR Laine"

Style Spotter Pick No. 1: CR Laine’s “Claybourne Sofa”

One manufacturer that definitely stood out to me was where I placed my first official “Style Spotter” pick: CR Laine.  CR Laine prides itself on being all about style, comfort, and color, and I without-a-doubt saw that at their showroom last Friday.

Their new theme is taking a journey through CR Laine’s garden, and I certainly did!  I instantly fell in love with the "Claybourne Sofa" (shown in Siamese Shamrock fabric & Fruitwood finish) and can’t wait to get it in a client’s living room.  In addition to making some of their own fabulous fabrics and prints, the company also makes throw pillows that are to die for in some major must-have fabrics from big names like Dorothy Draper, Schumacher, and Kelly Wearstler.

1.  Brazilliance Palm pillow |  2.  ChiangMai Aqua pillow |  3.  BengalBazaar Teal pillow
 4.  Gustav Chair in Zinnia Orchid |  5.  Cromwell Chair in Shanghai Chartreuse

Get the Look: "Mercury Glass"

Studio M has fallen in love with the look of mercury glass! Everything from home decor, hardware, accessories, and kitchen utensils are popping up with this pleasantly patina-ed look.  We're absolutely smitten over the "Lucian Metallic" tiles (pictured above in Field Pewter) by Ann Sacks and the look of flowers in a mercury glass vase (below), which make for an adorable centerpiece or home accent.

Here are a few must-have mercury glass accessories that would go perfectly with any interior.
(Not to mention they make great gifts, too!)

1. Shades of Light Ribbed Dome Pendant, $149  |  2. World Market Cheese Set, $14.99
Kirkland's Glass Votive Holder, $6.99  |  4.  Capri Blue 15 oz. candle, $37
Urban Outfitters Mercury Glass Finial (set of 2), $20
