When we moved back to Tasmania we did two trips from Melbourne to look for a house, each a long weekend with some time off work and then spent a frenzied day or two racing from inspection to inspection. Dale had spent a lot of time on the phone in the week before each trip arranging our inspection itinerary. Does this sound familiar?
We have just added a page to our website titled Why Choose Us?
On this page we have calculated what these type of recce trips cost and once you add in airfare, accommodation, car hire and eating out this can quickly add up to over $1600 for two people coming from Melbourne and more from other destinations. That is before adding in the cost of your time to arrange inspections and to take time off work. Plus it is very likely that you will do more than one trip, just like we did. Have a look at our Why Choose Us?
page to see the costs from other places in Australia.
We may be biased... but we think this makes our home search services a great deal! Our home search service including inspections start from $1650 (including GST). You can visit our home search services pages
to learn about what exactly we can do to make the move easier for you.

The Mercury recently reported that the vacancy rate for rental properties in Hobart have increased and have now resulted in rents coming down a little. Of course this varies across suburbs and there are other variables in the mix, but it is a good news story for those intending to rent property in Hobart. You can read the full article on our blog.
