Tassie News - April 2012

Welcome to Tassie News from Settled In

Firstly, a very warm welcome to all of our new subscribers. We have had a big increase in numbers over the past month which has been very exciting! We look forward to sharing with you all the very best that Tasmania has to offer. Tasmania is enjoying a lovely autumn at the moment with many sunny days, sometimes mild and sometimes a little crisp. In between those days we have had a couple of winter previews with snow on the mountain in Hobart and at other higher points around the state. I love having four distinct seasons and at this time of the year you get a little of everything, although the days over 25 degrees appear to have gone now.

Remember if you are thinking of relocating to Tasmania or buying property in Tasmania, then please get in touch to talk about how we can help you a little or a lot. We are happy to talk through what you need and provide a proposal that is tailored to exactly what you need. We can help you move to any city or region in Tasmania.

Why Choose Us?

When we moved back to Tasmania we did two trips from Melbourne to look for a house, each a long weekend with some time off work and then spent a frenzied day or two racing from inspection to inspection. Dale had spent a lot of time on the phone in the week before each trip arranging our inspection itinerary. Does this sound familiar?

We have just added a page to our website titled Why Choose Us? On this page we have calculated what these type of recce trips cost and once you add in airfare, accommodation, car hire and eating out this can quickly add up to over $1600 for two people coming from Melbourne and more from other destinations. That is before adding in the cost of your time to arrange inspections and to take time off work. Plus it is very likely that you will do more than one trip, just like we did. Have a look at our Why Choose Us? page to see the costs from other places in Australia.

We may be biased... but we think this makes our home search services a great deal! Our home search service including inspections start from $1650 (including GST). You can visit our home search services pages to learn about what exactly we can do to make the move easier for you.

Why Choose Tasmania?

We may be preaching to the converted, but it helps when you are on the way to planning your move to Tasmania to remember why you are doing it. Our blog post on Why Choose Tasmania? highlights some of the great lifestyle aspects of making the move. So if you are in the midst of planning or still just dreaming about the move, have a read to remind yourself of the lifestyle that you will soon enjoy.

Rental Vacancies Up, Rents Down

The Mercury recently reported that the vacancy rate for rental properties in Hobart have increased and have now resulted in rents coming down a little. Of course this varies across suburbs and there are other variables in the mix, but it is a good news story for those intending to rent property in Hobart. You can read the full article on our blog.
