Community Climate Action Forum

Thursday Oct 10, 2019
6:45 - 8:45 PM
Milton Public Library
476 Canton Ave, Milton

Find out how YOU can help take ACTION on climate change.

Milton HS students organized a strike on Sept 27.  Perhaps you attended it (or the Sept 20th event in Boston) or were with them in spirit.

Now what?  How can you get Massachusetts leaders to take strong action on climate change?

Please join us for an overview of carbon pricing and other pending legislation that will get our state off of fossil fuels.

More importantly, learn how to HELP make these changes happen.

We look forward to seeing you Thursday night at the Milton Public Library.

Youth Climate Strikes

Sept 20, 2019 - climate strikes took place in Boston and elsewhere on Earth, kicking off a week of action.

Sept 27, 2019 - Milton H.S. Earth Club hosted a strike.  Hats off to Milton's inspiring youth for motivating approx 30 others, including MA Sen. Timilty and Rep. Driscoll!!

Following the lead and vision of Swedish activist Greta Thunberg, youth have been striking across the globe for climate justice. In Massachusetts, youth leaders organized three strikes in the spring. On September 20, youth and adult allies once again came together to strike to stop “business as usual.” The strike was followed by a week of action, including the MHS Earth Club strike.

Trailside Museum Yard Sale

Blue Hills Trailside Museum
1904 Canton Ave, Milton, MA
Sat - Mon Oct 12-14, 10 AM - 4 PM

Say it ain't so!  Norman Smith will be retiring as Director of Blue Hills Trailside Museum next month.  Sustainable Milton wishes him well, appreciating his decades of dedication to that institution, to wildlife, and to our environment.  There are many reasons the Environmental Education Center atop Chickatawbut Hill has been named in his honor.  Thank you Norman, for many jobs well done!!

Looking for a few items to spruce up your nest? There's no telling what you'll find at Trailside's annual yard sale! Join us on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday this fall holiday weekend to shop furniture, housewares, toys, books and more.

For more than 20 years, all proceeds from this yard sale have helped Trailside continue to provide quality programs for the public, care for our non-releasable wildlife, and host thousands of visitors to the Blue Hills Reservation. There is no admission charge to shop the yard sale. We hope to see you there!
