Dear Friends,
Greetings in Christ Jesus!
I write to you today with praises and concerns from kids overcoming crisis. This past Saturday night, we held a service for 70 youth and staff at one of the many KidsPeace locations. By God's grace, we have had an open door to share Gods' unconditional love with children and teens there for the past five years.
After an evening of singing, preaching and encouraging, a young man, Kevin, approached me. With a twinkle in his weak eyes he said, "Something changed in me tonight. I am different now. I was having suicidal thoughts. I felt I had no purpose. I see now that God answers prayer. I am going to pray more often." Praise God for His transforming Spirit. Please pray for Kevin's relationship with his family, and for the rest of the hurting kids. Here is a partial list of requests:
"Help me, Lord, with my crippling anxiety." Zach
"...for a smooth recovery..." Amy, who's best friend has died
"I was raped at six years old and I need God's help to heal." Samantha
"for any person with struggles to be understood and motivated to keep their heads high" Joshua
The godly music that we sing during these services lightens their hearts and points them to Christ. Each time we visit, we leave them with up to 30 CDs that are eagerly received. Even more importantly, during this past visit, there was a great interest in having Bibles. We will be there again on the evening of Holy Saturday, when we will celebrate Easter with these fragile ones. We hope to have Bibles available for anyone who asks. You can help by donating new Bibles or by contributing toward the cost of them. Please contact us to give kids the eternal peace found only in God's Word.
Remember also, that for every young person receiving life-saving guidance at the center, there are millions outside facing trauma, abuse, neglect and more. There are many dangers and pressures in the modern world. So if you witness a child that seems troubled, do not pre-judge - pray.
Thank you all for being a part of this vital work.
Sincerely on Behalf of Rob, Lee, Jenn and Myself,
Chris Zweifel
