At Facebook’s F8 conference this week, Mark Zuckerberg lauded Facebook Live—which was notably used by BuzzFeed last week to capture an exploding watermelon—and, as expected, launched a chatbot store for the Messenger app. As Fast Company editor Harry McCracken noted in our live blog, Facebook’s roadmap for Messenger seems inspired by leading Chinese messaging app WeChat. The first order of business, according to Facebook? Not to piss users off with spammy bots.

In other news: Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes may be banned from the blood-testing business, Amazon announced the upscale Kindle Oasis, and Snapchat has usurped Instagram’s spot as the social network of choice for teens.
