Help Support Orienteering's Next 50 Years
2016 marks the 50th year of amateur orienteering in the USA. In 1967, the first orienteering clubs, the Delaware Valley Orienteering Association and the Quantico Orienteering Club, were formed. Since 1967 USOF’s and now Orienteering USA clubs and supporting members have hosted tens of thousands of events and placed millions of controls.
Between now and the North American Orienteering Championships at the end of September, it is OUSA’s goal to raise $50,000 to move our sport forward in the years to come. The money will be invested in club infrastructure, mapping programs and helping with access to land. These are things that can help our clubs to grow and help more people enjoy our sport.
To date, we have raised $25,000 through donations and pledges, so we are halfway to our goal. These donations have come from our OUSA Board of Directors, OUSA staff, donors and clubs. We need your help to raise the other half.
Please make a gift before NAOC2016 which starts September 23, 2016 to support this goal. Make your check or online payment payable to the United States Orienteering Federation and designate the gift as “50 Yearsâ€. You can go online to www.orienteeringusa.org or mail your donation to Orienteering USA, PO Box 1444, Forest Park, GA, 30298
