Dance your heart out for a great cause!
Dear Friends, Family & Colleagues,

This Year Dance Theatre of Ireland celebrates 25-years of performances, educational outreach workshops and many classes and unique programmes at the Center for Dance.   We want to share a few of the highlights from the year — as we launch a  Fundraising Campaign to keep these activities thriving and we ask for your support.

Vintage Youth , the 18-member, newly formed DTI Seniors Performance Group, performed 5 pieces to a packed audience in the newly opened dlr Lexicon -- commissioned by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.  Check out excerpts from the performance of Vintage Youth below. They moved 100s with their performance.

We’re living longer  - So live Better!  Contemporary DANCE has a lot to offer:  DTI’s Well-Dance for Seniors classes continue to grow—we offered 3 additional weekly classes in local community locations from February to June in a dlr/HSE Arts & Health project, along with initiating a study on the programme.  Initial results of the study conducted by Trinity College’s Discipline of Occupational Therapy indicate significant improvements in participants’ mobility, activity, and emotional well-being; soon to be published in the journal Occupational and Physical Therapy in Geriatrics.  DTI is committed to contributing to current research on Health in Aging.  Here is a sample of a Well-Dance for Seniors class, taking place every Tues & Wed morning at DTI now, JOIN US!

Dancing Well with Parkinson’s classes began in October at DTI. This is a very special collaboration with Move4Parkinson’s, with IPB Insurance, providing dance classes for people with Parkinson’s disease.  Dance Theatre of Ireland are members of Dance for PD® a dance program that is proven to improve physical and emotional well-being for people with Parkinson's  in over 100 cites around the world.

In other activities we continue to deliver over 200 workshops per year via DANCE POP, our Educational Outreach programme—taking place in schools and with community organizations nationwide.(see
Nature Moves  and Dance POP.) At the Centre for Dance in Dún Laoghaire we continue to provide a broad menu of 17-20 dance classes throughout the year for people of all ages, plus special workshops, Easter courses and Dance All Day summer camps.  Below, see a video sampling of some of the classes.

In addition to Dance Theatre of Ireland's rehearsals, over 100 dancers and many other Companies have been dancing or rehearsing at DTI. Check out some past photos from Creating Space performances, showcasing their work

Please help Dance Theatre of Ireland to continue to teach, engage and inspire you and others.  We face very serious financial challenges, including a 25% increase in the building’s rent.  As most of our programs are based at the Centre for Dance, this increase poses a very real threat.
Please help us reach our target of €10,000 with a Donation and/or buying tickets to our
