This Ain't Your Mother's Lambrusco!

For decades Lambrusco has struggled to overcome the reputation it earned when it first arrived on these shores in the '60s.  Well, overcome it has!  This sparkling wine from the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy is dry, bubbly, joyous, food friendly and affordable and we're featuring it in an all-Lambrusco winemaker dinner on Friday, February 21. 

Join us for an unforgettable menu prepared by visiting guest chef Simone Proietti-Pesci highlighting the wines of visiting winemaker Alberto Paltrinieri from Cantina Paltrinieri of the Sobara D.O.C. zone of Emilia-Romagna.  The menu features specialties from the Bologna area, including tigelle with squacquerone, gnocco fritto and mortadella, handmade tortellini with ragu and braised beef with polenta.  Tickets are required and are going fast so buy yours today! 


Piemonte Wine Dinner

Barolo, Nebbiolo, Dolcetto.  These are the names that come to mind when thinking about Italy's greatest wine growing region - Piemonte.  And they are the wines we'll be drinking with Lorenzo Scavino whose family owns and operates the acclaimed Azelia Winery in Castiglione Falletto, the heart of Barolo country.

This is an evening for true lovers of food and wine.  Lorenzo's wines will be paired with Chef Simone's dishes, including battuto, a traditional Piemontese steak tartare, bagna cauda, handmade agnolotti de plin pasta stuffed with pork and veal in a brown butter sauce and Barolo braised beef cheeks.  Be sure to bring your appetite and we'll do all the rest!

Chef Simone's Special Truffle Dinner
