|From Exposing the ELCA's Founder
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) is a huge religious denomination. I often compare the ELCA to Goliath from the Old Testament.
The ELCA has -
- 65 synods
- 24 colleges
- 10 seminaries
- An estimated 8,000 churches
- Approximately 3.9 million members
- Hundreds of websites
- 30,000 Facebook followers
- 2012 revenue projected to be $61,792,900
Exposing the ELCA, on the other hand, is much smaller, like David, it has a specific calling from God: to share and reveal truth that is consistent with God’s Word. It has very limited resources. It has three websites - exposingtheelca.com, elcatoday.com, and thelutheranlife.com and 851 Facebook followers.
Exposing the ELCA is in a battle with the ELCA for souls. It is a mismatch by worldly standards but not by God's standards. This is the mission to which God has called Exposing the ELCA: to take on this mighty giant Goliath.
Just as David said, Exposing the ELCA says to the ELCA, “I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, whom you have defied.” Turn away from your wickedness and return to your first Love, the Lord Almighty. Stop leading people away from God and down the road to destruction.
This is a battle, God's battle. It is my prayer that we seek Him and obey Him in all that we do. Thank you for your prayers and thank you for your support. If you can help Exposing the ELCA continue this ministry, it would be a great blessing.

Peace be with you,
Be a Witness for Truth
An ELCA college student sent me the following letter and gave me permission to share it with you. I praise God for this student and pray God will raise up faithful men and women to stand with this effort to share God's truth in love.
In first Corinthians 5, Paul writes to God's people concerning sexual immorality, and chastises them for their pride and boasting over something evil. He talks about judgement - not hating or being hypocritical, but keeping those who profess Christ's name accountable to their faith and fellowship. Too often today, Christians that oppose homosexuality and same-sex marriage are too scared to stand up and be a witness for truth, and simply stand back and stay silent. But isn't it amazing how perfectly this chapter of God's Word applies to the current situation in society? I'm tired of waiting for someone to ask me my opinion before being able to voice my opposition. I don't want to be mistaken for a supporter just because I am in an environment where the majority supports this sin. So this year, when my ELCA college puts on its pride week - covering the campus in rainbow flags, putting on presentations and telling stories celebrating one's "coming out," and giving no acknowledgement to the truth of my God's true Word, I want to do more than refuse to participate. I don't want to hate, I want to make a stand. It is something I feel that God has put on my heart, and I write to ask your help in reaching out to those who share my belief in God's Word and want to make a difference to others who may be too scared to reach out and speak the truth in love. I've designed a t-shirt (http://www.custom
k0-000p-trkk#shared) that I plan to wear during my college's "Pride Week" in early October - black for sin and opposite of all the rainbow "love is love" t-shirts the straight-gay alliance on campus will be handing out. I believe that it expresses enough of both the law and gospel to effectively communicate God's opposition and forgiveness without causing offense. I would love to get into contact with anyone else who would be interested in wearing a t-shirt with me, even if it's not the same campus or week or reason. God bless and thank you for reading!
The Truth and Authority of Scripture
2 Peter 1: 20-21 - "But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of ones own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God."
John 10:35 - (Jesus said) ". . .the Scripture cannot be broken."
Matt. 5:17,18 - (Jesus said) "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished."
Proverbs 30:5-6 - Every Word of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.
Luke 16:17 - (Jesus said) ". . . It is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the least stroke of a pen to drop out of the Law."
John 17:17 - (Jesus said) "Set them apart in the truth; your word is truth."
Matt. 22:29 - "Jesus answered them, 'You are deceived, because you don’t know the scriptures or the power of God.'"
“Cheap grace is the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance, baptism without church discipline, communion without confession.” - Dietrich Bonhoeffer, The Cost of Discipleship (1937)
