Business Spotlight:

Islamic Cultural Center

The Islamic Cultural Center located in downtown Oakland is leading by example with their new food scraps collection program. They got started with free indoor green bins, then labeled them with stickers provided by their hauler, Waste Management. One of our Business Assistance reps visited the school to teach the students about recycling and food scraps collection and trained staff on proper sorting. More than 80% of the waste the Center generates is now being recycled or composted. Great job!
