Opportunity for Health Innovation in Underserved Communities

“If we’re really going to solve the big challenges in healthcare, we have to focus on bringing innovation to the underserved communities,” said StartUp Health President and Co-Founder Unity Stoakes in this Businessweek article. The story showcased how we’re working along with our company Direct Dermatology and our partners the California Healthcare Foundation and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to help provide digital health solutions for low-income communities. This week, the Aetna Foundation also announced a $4M digital health investment in underserved communities, which we hope is the beginning of an important trend.
