A Moonshot to End Cancer As We Know It

During the State of the Union Address, President Obama asked VP Biden to focus on the mission of ending cancer as we know it. StartUp Health is incredibly honored to support this endeavour (our Chief Medical Officer Dr. Howard Krein is an advisor to the White House on this initiative), and we are working to organize an army of entrepreneurs who can help. If you’re a startup focusing on solutions that can help end cancer as we know it, we’d like to meet you; tell us about what you are working on now.

Putting Joe Biden in Charge of Mission Control

A Festival Focused on Mindset, Healthcare Transformers and Moonshots

Dr. J Craig Venter, the CEO of Human Longevity Inc., said we’ve already been to the moon and we need to “aim higher” in healthcare during his fireside chat with Sue Siegel, the CEO of GE Ventures, at the StartUp Health Festival this week in SF. The good news is there’s an army of Healthcare Transformers focusing on the mission! More than 2,000 of the world’s most inspiring entrepreneurs, healthcare leaders, scientists, ‘doctorpreneurs,’ investors, and Healthcare Transformers from around the world participated in the Festival on Monday and Tuesday. And the StartUp Showcase we co-hosted with athenahealth was our biggest one yet, featuring an extraordinary roster of companies from More Disruption Please and StartUp Health. We will be sharing video soon of our fireside chats with Jerry Levin, Esther Dyson, Dr. J Craig Venter, Sue Siegel, Dr. Howard Krein, Dr. Bob Kocher, Thomas Goetz, Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, Vinod Khosla, Dr. Dean Ornish, Christina Farr, Dr. Nick Turkal, Meg Fitzgerald, Matt McAskin, Stephanie Lee, Jonathan Bush and more.
