Liberating Data at HHS: An Exclusive StartUp Health Interview

As Chief Technology Officer at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Bruce Greenstein has the monumental task of figuring out how to share data across all agencies to improve healthcare for all Americans.

During a recent interview with StartUp Health’s Katya Hancock, Director of Strategic Partnerships, Greenstein discussed how HHS is working to break down data silos, how data is being used to tackle the country’s opioid epidemic, and the government’s role in supporting entrepreneurs as they work to improve care.

Trend Watch: Stories Shaping Digital Health

We saw $300 million in digital health funding this week, led by Akili Interactive ($55M), which develops prescription digital treatments that are delivered through video game experiences. Other big raises this week included Qventus ($30M) and Innovaccer ($25M).
