StartUp Health Raises $31M to Invest in Companies Focused on Achieving Health Moonshots

StartUp Health Team
Since 2011 StartUp Health has worked with and invested in hundreds of entrepreneurs around the globe working to transform health. This week, we are excited to announce that we closed our second fund to invest in Health Transformers dedicated to achieving health moonshots. Backed by a world-class group of strategic partners including Novartis, Ping An Group, Chiesi Group, GuideWell, Otsuka, Masimo, and a collaboratory of strategic partners, we’re doubling down on our plan to invest in a global army for good and support the Health Transformers transforming the future of health. If you are an entrepreneur interested in being part of StartUp Health Academy, learn more now.

Hot off the press:

For LifeDojo, Corporate Wellness Is Just the Beginning

LifeDojo
Chris Cutter, founder of startup LifeDojo, is making waves in the sprawling corporate wellness market (estimated at $40B) with a novel approach to patient empowerment — a digital platform that equips employees with tools and coaches to design their own 12-week behavior change program. LifeDojo has quadrupled their clients in this sector, including a contract with Airbnb. But it's more than a numbers game for Cutter. This Health Transformer is working towards a world where instead of leaning heavily on primary care providers, the first point of contact with the health industry would be a primary prevention coach.

Telemedicine’s New Chapter: Improvement Through Empowerment

Telemedicine
For years we’ve talked about the cost saving potential of telemedicine, but as more consumers turn to their smartphones and other digital devices to manage their healthcare, new stories about virtual care are being written. Stories that speak to the maturity of the telehealth model and the innovative startups bringing new energy and technology to the space. Stories like these.

The Quest for a Longer, More Mobile Life

Mobile Life
The internet would like you to think that the quest for a long, healthy life ends at the corner store, or with the click of a button. Or maybe the secret to longevity is just more naps. While that last one is true, there are also systemic and complex factors to longevity, like access to care, that also play a part in this quest. Read about seven startups that are taking this mission seriously and changing the face of life-extending and life-improving therapeutic interventions.
