Ping An Opens Up About Their Global Investment Strategy

Ping An, the largest insurance company in the world and a recent StartUp Health partner, has built a health ecosystem within their organization. Their most notable digital health project to date, Ping An Good Doctor, has raised about $1.1 billion and is now the largest telehealth platform in the world, with over 192 million registered users. Ping An took the platform public at the beginning of May.

Steven Krein, CEO of StartUp Health, caught up with Jonathan Larsen, the Chief Innovation Officer of Ping An Group, as well as the Chairman and CEO of their Global Voyager Fund, at the StartUp Health Village to chat about Ping An’s future in health.

Trend Watch: Stories Shaping Digital Health

We saw over $126M in innovative health funding this week, led by Kry ($66M), which will launch its video-based doctor consultation service in more European markets. Other big raises included Israeli medical imaging startup Zebra Medical Vision ($30M) and AI-powered software platform nference ($11M).
