Fall Arty Farty News

Fall is my favorite time of year, and I'm happy to have a busy one coming up!

October 5-7th: The O+ Festival in Kingston, NY. Visit for schedules and more information. The great thing about this festival is that all artists and bands get free health services! I'm also looking forward to the leaves turning in upstate New York. I will be exhibiting my new work, that is quite different from my normal portraiture.

October 14th: Remember that fellowship I went on to New Orleans back in March? Well, the documentary the followed us around is premiering during the New Orleans Film Festival at the Joy Theater (yes, I'll be in attendence). It will become available on DVD soon, I'm told. I don't know how I feel about seeing myself on the big screen with crazy humidity hair, though.

October 27th: Moon Goddess group show curated by Aunia Kahn at Modern Eden Gallery, San Francisco, CA. This has an amazing line-up!

  • If you haven't already seen it my gallery in San Francisco, Articulated/Loved to Death, has a reality show on the Science Channel called "Oddities: San Francisco". I only just got cable and am watching past episodes. It's fun to see my art and people I know almsot every week on that show! Here's a little video of my solo show with them back in January.
  • Don't forget my book "The National Portrait Gallery of Kessa: The Art of Arabella Proffer" is available on and in select stores.
  • This week marks nearly 2 years of me being in remission. I'm going to buy some shoes to celebrate!
