Keeping Siblings Together.
November is National Adoption month and the focus for 2014 is on keeping siblings together.
This is a big part of the Many Lights vision because, not only are siblings part of individual and family identity, brothers and sisters can also help each other heal from shared traumatic experiences. Many kids in foster care lose these life long connections due to situations and the system.
At Hope Lights, adoptive parents and kinship caregivers are encouraged and able to keep siblings together and receive support to do so.
