Health & Safety Standards Institute Offers “Advanced-Level Learning” and “Sharp Focus on Critical Issues”
The Forum’s 5th Annual Standards of Good Practice Institute
, "Beyond the Basics of Health, Safety, Security and Risk Management," will be held at the University of Denver in Colorado on June 20, 2014. There is still time to register
This annual Standards Institute offers practical strategies and resources at an advanced level, and includes sessions that are led by experts from within and outside of the education abroad field. Critical issues will be addressed this year, including state regulation of study abroad, increased number of travel warnings and how to vet program providers.
Read what colleagues had to say about last year’s Institute, held in June 2013 at the University of California, Santa Barbara:
“This year's Standards Institute truly went beyond the basics. By including speakers and planning committee members from outside the field there was added expertise, value and substance, nicely complementing the already strong contributions of Forum members.”
Lili Batchelder, Lodestone Safety International
“The Institute is an opportunity for advanced-level learning and connecting with colleagues dealing with the same issues.”
Beth Kilinc, University of New Hampshire
“The Institute provided a valuable opportunity to bring sharp focus to critical issues and challenges.”
Jeannie B. Simmons, The Ohio State University
