Apply to Become a Forum Certification Assessor


The deadline to submit an application to become part of the cohort of Forum Certification Assessors is September 15!

The Forum seeks experienced professionals in the field of education abroad to serve as Forum Certification Assessors for the Professional Certification in Education Abroad program. Assessors will be rigorously trained to review and evaluate Standards Assignments submitted by program participants. Qualified applicants will be experienced colleagues from Forum member institutions and organizations who have consistently demonstrated their skill in the articulation and application of the Standards of Good Practice for Education Abroad.

European Colleagues: Register for Forum Workshops in Italy, Greece and Spain


The Forum’s 2015-2016 workshop schedule includes workshops in Sorrento, Italy, Thessaloniki, Greece, and Barcelona, Spain. Overview of the Standards of Good Practice and Health, Safety, Security and Risk Management (Standard 8) will be hosted by Sant’Anna Institute in Sorrento on October 20, and again by The American College of Thessaloniki on October 23.  In February, CEA Study Abroad Barcelona Center will host Student Learning, Development and Academic Framework (Standards 2 & 3) and Health, Safety, Security and Risk Management (Standard 8).

Workshops are designed to be highly interactive, timely and informative, providing participants with current best practices and how these practices can be implemented to meet the Standards of Good Practice.

Session Proposal Tips: 12th Annual Conference


The Forum is now accepting session and workshop proposals for its 12th Annual Conference, Navigating the Intersections: The Cultures of Education Abroad. The conference will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, April 6-8, 2016.
 
Planning on submitting a proposal? Be sure to read our Session Proposal Tips and Suggestions to find out what works, what doesn’t, and how to propose a successful session.
 
The deadline for session and workshop proposals is September 4.

The Forum invites experienced colleagues to apply to become a member of The Forum Trained Facilitator Team that delivers the Standards of Good Practice workshops. The deadline to apply is September 30.

Award for Excellence in Education Abroad Curriculum Design: Call for Course Submissions


The Forum’s Award for Excellence in Education Abroad Curriculum Design honors an individual or group of individuals at a Forum member institution or organization for excellence in the design of an education abroad course. All courses submitted to the Curriculum Cooperative by September 15 will be considered for the award. Please share with any colleagues who may be eligible.
 
The Curriculum Cooperative is an online resource center where colleagues from Forum member institutions and organizations share their unique approaches to encouraging student learning abroad. The Cooperative contains education abroad course and program profiles, as well as video and text interviews with faculty and administrators, sample syllabi, and more.
