Early Bird registration rates for the Forum’s 8th Annual Conference ends Friday, January 20, 2012.  Early Bird registration provides a savings of $100 per person on the full conference fee. Reminder: Forum and NACUA Workshop on Changes to Clery Act Reporting

The Forum on Education Abroad will conduct a workshop to address recent changes to the Clery Handbook and the implications for education abroad. The full-day workshop, Implications of the New Clery Handbook - What Does it Mean for Education Abroad? is co-sponsored by the National Association of College and University Attorneys, and will take place on Friday, February 3, 2012, 9:00am to 4:00pm at the Fordham Law School in New York, New York. Spotlight on Pre-conference Workshops:

The Forum’s pre-conference workshops are a valuable training opportunity for colleagues at any type of institution or organization. Workshops provide small-group, in-depth explorations of key topics over either a full or half day. One half-day workshop, “An Introduction to the Forum's Standards of Good Practice for Education Abroad,” will utilize group exercises and roundtable work to explore all aspects the Forum’s Standards: the context for the Standards; the structure and content of the Standards; and case studies that will serve as an opportunity to apply the Standards in real-word situations.

Call for Volunteers for Data Committee Working Group

The Forum is pleased to announce a call for volunteers to serve on a newly-formed Data Committee Working Group that will focus on institutional resources.  This group will contribute substantially to reworking the Pathways Survey, and develop an online resource of organizational structures in education abroad offices. Reminder: "Beyond the Basics of Health, Safety and Risk Management" Standards Institute Proposals Due January 18

The Forum will accept session proposals for the 3rd Standards of Good Practice Institute on "Beyond the Basics of Health, Safety and Risk Management" until January 18, 2012.  This Standards Institute will be held at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. on June 12, 2012.
