Call for Regional Workshop Hosts

The Forum continues to make its training opportunities more accessible by offering regional workshops around the U.S. and overseas. In anticipation of planning the regional workshop schedule for the 2014-2015 academic year, we are seeking nominations from potential host institutions.
Workshops can be selected from a list of full or half-day options that focus on the Forum’s Standards of Good Practice for Education Abroad. Specific workshops also fulfill part of the curriculum requirements for the Forum's new Professional Certification in Education Abroad Program, which provides colleagues with essential education and training and certifies that they are able to articulate and apply the Standards of Good Practice.
Click here to read the full RFP. To be considered for the 2014-15 academic year, proposals must be submitted by May 15.

Standard 8 Workshop: Crafting Emergency Action Plans and Protocols

Wake Forest University will host a full-day Forum workshop, Focus on Standard 8: Crafting Emergency Action Plans and Protocols, on Tuesday, May 13, 2014. The goal of this workshop is to assist participants in developing custom plans and protocols in accordance with Standard 8 of the Forum's Standards of Good Practice for Education Abroad. The workshop includes interactive exercises, much discussion and an opportunity to critique different aspects of emergency action protocols. Participants will discuss different aspects of handling common health and safety concerns, and understand how the Standards of Good Practice support their own program management and goals.
