Standards of Good Practice Institute: Ethics and Integrity in Education Abroad
Call for Proposals
The Forum on Education Abroad announces a call for session proposals for the Standards of Good Practice Institute, “Ethics and Integrity in Education Abroad,” to be held in Chicago, IL on April 3, 2013 immediately preceding the 9th Annual Forum Conference. Through the use of the Forum’s Standards of Good Practice
and the Code of Ethics for Education Abroad
, this Standards Institute is intended to assist participants in understanding ethical issues and improving their institutional strategies for ethical operations in education abroad. Plenary and concurrent sessions are expected to involve a wide variety of practical, hands-on activities that will facilitate participant analysis of everyday ethical dilemmas in such areas as student advising, marketing, relationships between institutions and program providers, and reciprocity with international partners.
The deadline for submitting session proposals is October 5th. The Forum particularly welcomes proposals that emphasize positive examples of best practices, incorporate real life case studies or ethical dilemmas, and actively involve participants in dialogue.
